High School Concurrent
Get a head start on your college education while still in high school! Choose from a variety of concurrent courses and take them online, at your high school, at NWACC or at the Secondary Career Center. College credit earned by completing concurrent courses can be applied toward a technical certificate, an associate degree or be transferred to a four-year university – saving you time and money.
Connect with your high school advisor or NWACC’s High School Relations Office to discuss your concurrent enrollment eligibility and which academic path is right for you.
Concurrent Eligibility:
- Enrolled in grades 9-12
- High school cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Appropriate placement scores on the ACT, Accuplacer Next Generation, Accuplacer Classic, ASPIRE 10 or SAT
- Approval from high school counselor or a parent or guardian (if homeschooled)

Concurrent Academic Pathways
→ Earn College Credit - Get a head start on your general education courses such as algebra, computer information systems, English composition, public speaking, psychology, film arts and more. Begin the application process and connect with your high school counselor.
→ Earn an Associate Degree - Complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Transfer Degree by taking required
general education courses and electives that can transfer to a four-year institution
after you graduate high school. View associate degrees.
→ Earn a Technical Certificate - Earn college credit toward an industry-recognized certificate in a technical program such as culinary arts, dental assistant, certified nursing assistant, criminal justice and more. View technical programs.
